To have Rock or Cydia you have to Jailbreak your iPhone or iPod touch. I’m not saying to go out and do it because it voids your warranty and may cause problems with your device. But I thought I should put my favorite apps since I did the app store ones and since many people have jailbroken devices. Again, all are free unless otherwise specified.
PDANet. The best for tethering. the license costs $30 dollars but if you don't mind slower speeds when the trial expires then you'll be ok
Papaya. you can Farm, Ranch, play Blackjack and more all in one app for .99 cents. or you can download them individually for free. This app used to be in the apple app store until people started having problems buying papayas (not required for game play)
Categories. Put apps in folders. I like having a lot of apps but I hate having so many pages. This allows you to name your folder and choose your own icon. Wonderful - (no icon available) Make it mine. Change what the Carrier says. instead of AT&T mine is my initials. And change the Banner (where the time is)
- (no icon available) Safari Download. downloads files (zip, rar, etc) and media types that the built in media player supports. you can download or play in the media player. You need knowledge of SSH to use this.
WinterBoard. Allows you to theme your iPhone. needed for most themes offered in Rock and Cydia. easy to use and lets you edit list order. - (no icon available) What IP. Tells you your current IP address
- (not app icon, not an app) Flashing Christmas Lights. This is not an app but i felt I needed to include it. It puts flashing lights on the outside of your screen. Requires WinterBoard
- (no icon available, not an app) Five Column SpringBoard. Gives you five columns of apps instead of four.
- (no icon available, not an app) Five Column Dock. Gives you room for five dock icons instead of four.
iBlank. Allows you to create blank spaces. Great if you download a theme that has something at the top you want to be able to see
